This Privacy Policy describes how Bookslate ("the app", "we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when a merchant installs the app on their Shopify store.

The app is developed and operated by Gaku Labs ("Gaku Labs", an individual developer). You can contact us at gaku.labs@gmail.com.

Information we collect

When a merchant installs Bookslate, we collect and store:

• Store information — the store's domain and timezone, used to calculate available booking slots correctly.
• Product configuration — which products the merchant has marked as bookable, and the booking rules they set (duration, capacity, business hours, blackout dates).
• Booking records — when a customer completes an order for a bookable product, we read the order to create a booking record: the order number, the booked date and time, and the quantity.
• Customer name and email address — taken from the order, and stored with the booking so the merchant can see who is arriving for each appointment and contact them if needed.

We do not collect payment details. All payments are processed by Shopify's own checkout; the app never sees or stores card information.

How we use this information

We use this information only to operate the app's core function: turning a merchant's products into bookable services, calculating available time slots, and showing the merchant their upcoming bookings. We do not use customer data for advertising, and we do not sell or rent it to third parties.

How long we keep it

Booking records are kept for as long as the app is installed, since they form part of the merchant's business records. If a merchant uninstalls the app, all data associated with their store is permanently deleted within 48 hours.

If a customer asks a merchant to delete their personal data, we remove the customer's name and email address from their booking records. We keep the booking itself (date, time, order number) without any personal identifiers, since it is also part of the merchant's own business and accounting records.

Sharing with third parties

We do not share, sell, or rent customer information to third parties. Information is processed through Shopify's platform (as required to operate the app) and is otherwise only visible to the merchant who owns the store.

Your rights

Customers can ask the merchant they purchased from to request a copy of their data, or to have it deleted, at any time. These requests are handled automatically through Shopify's data request and redaction process.
